NABTEB releases December 2019 exam results


Registrar of the National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB), Prof. Ifeoma Isiugo-Abanihe on Wednesday formally announced the release of the November/December 2019 examination results.
Isiugo-Abanihe, who made the announcement at the board’s headquarters in Benin city, Edo state, said 49, 302 candidates sat for the National Business Certificate (NBC)/ National Technical Certificate (NTC) examinations representing 98.53 per cent of the total enrolment.
She said a total of 40, 605 candidates representing 91.52 per cent scored five credits and above with or without English Language and mathematics.

The registrar said that efforts to checkmate examination malpractices are yielding positive results, adding that “603 candidates representing 1.22 per cent of the total candidates that sat for the examination were found to be involved in examination malpractices.”
She stressed the need to develop new curricular for various Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes that are responsive to national skills need.
Prof. Isiugo-Abanihe however, called for legislation for the establishment of more modern, well-equipped technical colleges and ensure that the existing ones are adequately equipped.
She added that registration of candidates for the 2020 May/June NBC/NTC NABTEB examination is ongoing.
