Muslim body examines causes of frequent divorce cases in Nigeria

In line with her passion for children and women welfare, ‘The Criterion’, an Association of Muslim women in business and different professions has concluded plans to hold her annual seminar centred on rapid increase in divorce cases and the effects on the children and the society at large. The Lagos District Amirah (President) of the association, Alhaja Dhikrat Abiodun Oshodi said in a statement that erudite scholars have been invited to the seminar to dwell on the theme: ‘Beyond The Feel of Love’. According to her, topics to be discussed at the seminar include: ‘’, ‘Spousal Abuse’ and ‘The Ripple Effect of Domestic Violence on Training a Child in a Multi facet Society.’ The seminar slated for 10th February, 2019 will be held at the MRC Hall of the Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM) as from 10am. The Managing Director of Pinnacle Medical Services, Dr Maymunah Yusuf Kadiri is expected to deliver lecture on ‘Spousal Abuse’, while Director, Office of Public Defender, Lagos State Ministry of Justice Mrs Mariam Olayinka Adeyemi will deliver Paper on ‘The Ripple effect of Domestic Violence on a Child in a Multi facet Society’. The seminar which is targeted at all adults, will be chaired by Alhaji Shuaib Afolabi Salis, the Managing Director of Simplex Automation Services Limited, and The Special Guest is Dr Oluyemisi .C. Ogun,of CMD ,Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Yaba Lagos and will be preceded by free medical screening for all participants.
