MultiChoice delivered an unforgettable experience for their DStv Prestige customers by hosting a thrilling Belgian Grand Prix watch party in Abuja.
The event which underscored MultiChoice’s commitment to providing exclusive and luxurious experiences for their elite clientele brought the glamour and excitement of Formula 1 to Nigeria’s capital.
The atmosphere at the watch party was electric, with fans gathering to cheer on their favourite drivers. The energy in the room was palpable from the moment the race began, highlighting the passion and enthusiasm that Formula 1 races evoke.
Big screens, fantastic sound systems, and an array of food and drinks ensured that attendees were fully immersed in the high-octane drama of the Belgian GP.
Speaking with journalists at the sideline, the Executive Head of Marketing for West Africa at MultiChoice, Tope Oshunkeye, said watch party, following a successful event in Lagos, showcased MultiChoice’s dedication to reaching a broader base of their premium customers.
“It’s amazing to be here. A lot of times we’ve done watch parties and experiences for our customers who are very dear to us for football. We’ve had things around boxing and the likes, but we thought it was time to take it a notch higher, especially to our elite customers. For Formula 1, we’ve done it in Lagos, but now we’re in Abuja. So we want to do a situation whereby we’re connected to a broad base of our customers, widely but more specifically our DSTV prestige customer, which is our lifestyle luxury products.”
According to Oshunkeye, the DStv Prestige package includes a gold decoder, gold dish, and an exclusive remote, offering an unparalleled viewing experience.
“Beyond superior entertainment options, our Prestige package includes lifestyle benefits like discounts at select merchants and a dedicated relationship manager… It’s all about providing a tailored and luxurious experience.” Oshunkeye said
The watch party was more than just a viewing event; it was a celebration of the glamour and excitement that defined Formula 1.
However, the evening took a dramatic turn with breaking news from the race: George Russell’s Mercedes was disqualified due to a weight issue. This unexpected twist, with Russell’s car falling 1.5 kg short of the minimum weight limit, sparked lively discussions, adding an extra layer of intrigue to an already action-packed night.
Despite the unexpected outcome, the watch party remained a highlight for attendees. The blend of racing drama and lively entertainment made it a night to remember.
