Mohammed backs Kano Pillars turnaround

The striker has predicted a return to glorious days for Sai Masu Gida after the team struggled to impress in the just concluded season

Adamu Mohammed believes that Kano Pillars will bounce back from their disappointing league finish next season.

Pillars finished seventh with 52 points from 36 matches after allowing Niger Tornadoes to pick a valuable away draw at the Sani Abacha Stadium on the final day of the season and Mohammed who accounted for the club’s lone goal in the encounter has beckoned on the fans to continue to support them in their bid to re-establish themselves in the league.

“It was a shame that we couldn’t meet our targets for the season. We tried our best as players and the management with the support of the state government has been very supportive too,” Mohammed told Goal.

“We had injury problems and some of our players left for overseas trials. We also had other issues too. We the players are not happy with the way we ended the season and we will do our utmost to bounce back in style next season.

“I want to thank our fans for supporting us despite our challenges this past season and I want to assure that they will see a very different Pillars side next season.”

Meanwhile, Pillars have given their players three weeks break to ensure they rest well ahead preparation for next season.
