Mimiko Dissolves Ondo Council Of Obas

Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, the outgoing governor of Ondo state has dissolved the state’s Council of Obas even as he has appointed His Royal Majesty, Oba Akadiri Saliu Momoh, the Olukare of Ikare as the Council’s new chairman.

Mimiko announced the dissolution in a statement issued on Tuesday to journalists in Akure, the State capital, through the state commissioner for information, Kayode Akinmade.

“Dr Olusegun Mimiko CON, has formally dissolved the State Council of Obas and has appointed HRM, the Olukare of Ikare-Akoko Oba ( Alhaji) Akadiri Momoh 1V, JP, CON as the Chairman of Ondo State Council of Obas ”
Mimiko said the appointment of the Olukare takes effect from Monday, 20th February 2017.

Daily Times reported that the Olukare replaced the Osemawe of Ondo, Oba Dr. Adesinmbo Kiladejo of Ondo Kindom.
Oba Kiladejo ascended the throne of his father in August 1984 and has since remain a frontline traditional ruler in the state.

Dr Mimiko through the statement, also expressed appreciation to the immediate past Council of Obas,under the Chairmanship of the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Kiladejo, for their support for his government.
