Mercy Otiaba Emerges as the 4th Miss Aviation Nigeria Empowerment Initiative Winner

The 4th Miss Aviation Nigeria Empowerment Initiative, organized by the Maman Aviaworld Initiative, was held successfully on November 21, 2024, at the prestigious Sheba Centre, Ikeja, Lagos.
The event, designed to empower youth and promote opportunities in the aviation industry, commenced with a vibrant red-carpet ceremony at 4:00 pm and officially kicked off at 5:00 pm.
After a keenly contested competition among eight exceptional finalists, Mercy Otiaba emerged as the winner, claiming the title of the 4th Miss Aviation Nigeria Empowerment Initiative.
Chiemelie Nnadozie took the 1st runner-up position, while Grace Omaruke Oshiname was named 2nd runner-up. The Miss Aviation Nigeria Empowerment Initiative is one of the flagship programs of the Maman Aviaworld Initiative, a non-profit organization committed to empowering women and youth through mentorship, education, and skills development.
The primary objective of this initiative is to support youth through training and mentorship, creating pathways for personal and professional growth, while also promoting donations and funding towards aviation careers, which are often cost-intensive and inaccessible for many aspiring professionals.
By showcasing the potential of young women through this pageant, the initiative raises awareness about opportunities in aviation while inspiring the next generation to break barriers in the industry.
The event showcased the exceptional talent and determination of the finalists, each embodying the spirit of ambition and excellence.
Uniquely named after aviation call signs, the contestants symbolized the discipline and precision associated with the aviation industry.
Their performances reflected not only their individual strengths but also their shared commitment to inspiring others to pursue careers in this challenging yet rewarding field.
At the end of the evening, Miss Foxtrot, Mercy Otiaba, emerged as the winner, earning the title of the 4th Miss Aviation Nigeria Empowerment Initiative.
Miss Alpha, Chiemelie Nnadozie, secured the 1st Runner-Up position, while Miss Golf, Grace Omaruke Oshiname, claimed the 2nd Runner-Up spot.
Other outstanding contestants included Dorathy Timbri Tyokegh (Miss Delta), Nkemakonam Cynthia Amaizu (Miss Charlie), Confidence Ololade Ajayi (Miss Echo), and Nicole Chinonye Chukwu (Miss Bravo).The top three winners were recognized for their outstanding performances and received awards to celebrate their achievements.
Speaking at the event, Ololade Adenekan, Convener of the Maman Aviaworld Initiative, expressed her excitement and reaffirmed the program’s goals: “We are thrilled to have successfully hosted the 4th Miss Aviation Nigeria Empowerment Initiative.

By empowering young women through mentorship and awareness, we are shaping the future of aviation in Nigeria and beyond.” It’s also noteworthy that NBJ Ground Handling Ltd., Etam Avitat Services Ltd., Viva Jets , Lush Travels and Royal Arts Academy gave the event the needed support.
