Man Flees From Community Over Ancestors Decision As Chief Priest of Shrine

It was a bright and sunny day on the 13th day of October, 2023 as residents of Uzebu quarters in Egor local government area of Edo State were recently thrown into shock when news recently broke that Favour Osasere Ehigiator, the chosen one to become the true custodian and chief priest of Osagbaye shrine had abandoned the community and fled into exile.

The community had been without a Chief priest after the shocking exit of the former chief Pa. Johnson Ogbeide.

Elders of the community were said to have consulted the ancestors of the community and were informed through the oracle of the gods that Favour Osasere Ehigiator had been chosen as the new chief priest.

Favour Osasere Ehigiator was said to have received the news of him being the new chief priest of Osagbaye shrine in Uzebu quarters with disbelief owing to his childhood background as a Christian as he was opposed to fetish and idolatry practice.

However trouble was said to have started when elders of the community attempted to persuade him into accepting the decision of the ancestors which he vehemently opposed till his sudden disappearance.

In an interview with newsmen in Benin City, the elders of the community represented by Pa.James Usiobaifo disclosed that elders and members of the community were shocked when news broke that Favour Osasere Ehigiator whom the ancestors had chosen to take over as the new custodian and chief priest of Osagbaye shrine in Uzebu had disappeared and was nowhere to be found as he had reportedly fled from our community.

Speaking further, the elders said that the community for several months had been without a chief priest after the sudden death of the former chief priest.

The administration of the community without a chief priest can not be allowed to run without Favour Osasere Ehigiator being installed as the new chief priest because anytime soon calamity of unimaginable magnitude might befall each and every one of us in this community if we do not have him (Favour Osasere Ehigiator) installed as the new chief priest, Pa. James added.

At the time of this report, Favour Osasere Ehigiator was said to have abandoned and fled from the community as elders and members of the community were planning ahead of his installation as the new chief priest of Osagbaye shrine in Uzebu quarters against his will.
