Lawmaker tasks ITF to step up productivity, create job

The Federal House of Representatives member in the National Assembly and Chairman, House Committee on Climate Change, Hon. Sam Onuigbo, on Tuesday, charged the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) to step up productivity and create job opportunity for the Nigerian youth, in the current harsh economic downturn.

Hon. Onuigbo stated this in Jos, during an oversight visit to the headquarters of the industrial training funds.

Led by the Chairman of House of Representatives Committee on Industry, Alh. Abubakar Husaini Moriki, the member said the committee has resolved to work closely with President Muhammadu Buhari in handling the affairs of the country, most especially in the creation of conducive environment for businesses to thrive.

The committee, however, also lamented the epileptic power supply in the country, saying that power has become a very critical issue in the country as the federal government is doing all it could to ensure that the issue of power is put to rest.

They challenged the management of the ITF to bridge the gap of industries to create job opportunities for the youths.

Earlier in his welcome address, the acting Director General of the fund, Mr. Dickson C. Onuoha, congratulated members of the committee for their victories at the polls and their appointment to the committee on Industry.
