Lagos Police warns parents against paedophiles during lockdown, arrests two

The Lagos Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has advised parents to be vigilant and wary of paedophiles who may want to prey on their children during the lockdown.

Odumosu’s advise follows the arrest of a 52-year-old sex offender, notorious for the act in the Okokomaiko area of Lagos.
The suspect, Dako Aaron, a security guard at a private company, had defiled a 13-year-old girl (name withheld).
The suspects allegedly lures young girls to the security post, where he molests them.
Preliminary investigation revealed he had invited the latest survivor to the security post on two different occasions.
A medical report confirmed penetration by the suspect, who was arrested by operatives of the Okokomaiko Police Division, and later transferred to the Gender Unit, Lagos State Police Cmmand Headquaters.
According to Elkana Bala, the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), who issued a statement on the arrest on Sunday, “ The Commissioner of Police Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu uses this medium to advise parents to beware of paedophiles preying on their children during the lockdown period.
“ The suspect is alleged to have dragged the survivor into his security post in two different occasions. The survivor was taken to hospital for medical treatment and forensic examination.
The suspect was arrested and transferred to Gender Unit for discreet investigation and prosecution. From records available, the suspect is an habitual paedophile. He was last charged to Court on February 22, 2017, for raping a minor.”
The PPRO stated further that the suspect will be charged to court.
In another development, a woman had reported at the Ikorodu Police Division, that her nine-year-old daughter was defied by a man, Christian Chikezie.
The woman it was learnt had left her daughter in the care of a lady, simply identified as Mercy, to quickly go to the hospital.
Also speaking on the arrest of the suspect, Bala said: “ On March 30, a woman (name withheld) reported at Ikorodu Police Station that on March 29, she kept her daughter (name withheld) in the care of one Mercy, and left for hospital. On getting back from hospital, she discovered that the girl is no longer there.

“ On searching for her, she saw her coming out of Christian Chikezie’s house. On enquiry, her daughter told her that the said Christian Chikeze had sexual intercourse with her. The survivor was taken to hospital for medical treatment and forensic examination.
“ The suspectwasass arrested by detectives from the Juvenile Welfare Centre, Ikorodu Police Station and transferred to Gender Unit, Command Headquarters, Ikeja for discreet investigation and prosecution. Investigation is ongoing.”
