Lagos-Ibadan Expressway: Truck driver crushes motorcyclist to death

Pandemonium broke out on Monday along the Ogun State axis of Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, following the death of a male motorcyclist who was allegedly crushed to death by a truck.
The incident occurred at about 11 am, at Olowotedo, adjacent to a new generation church camp, inbound Lagos State.
The sad incident took place after a hit and run vehicle reportedly hit the motorcycle which ended up somersaulting into the approaching truck driver who could do nothing about the resulting tragedy.

Following the incident, all hell was let loose as some miscreants took over the scene, dishing out madness and mayhem as they vandalized vehicles on sight without caution nor restraint.
Daily Times gathered that law enforcement agencies eventually appeared on the scene, arrested the truck driver and impounded his truck.
The accident was said to have created a traffic jam which was later defused by men of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), who restored order to the scene.
TRACE Public Relations Officer, Babatunde Akinbiyi who confirmed the development to newsmen said a temporary diversion was created to ease traffic. He also sympathized with the affected victims and implored motorcyclists to desist from plying the expressway.
