Lagos police arrest two members of notorious armed robbery gang

Two notorious armed robbery suspects who have been terrorising residents of Agege area in Lagos have been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command
The suspects were arrested on January 20th, along railway line by Moshalasi Alhaja area of Lagos at about 415 am.
The Daily Times gathered that the police had received a distress call from a resident alleging that armed men were terrorizing inhabitants along the railway line by Moshalasi in Agege.
A patrol team was detailed and mobilized to the scene, immediately the miscreants sighted the policemen they opened fire on the policemen. The police responded and two of the suspected armed robbers were apprehended.
Investigations revealed that the suspects had robbed different victims at gun point. The Police Operatives also recovered some stolen items which were taken into custody as exhibits.
Some of the recovered items from the suspects includes, a cut to size locally-made double barrel, six rounds of ammunition, eleven handsets of different brands, laptops, two television sets and wraps of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp.
Although as at the time of filing in this report, the names of the suspect were yet to be disclosed by the police, the Lagos State police public relations officer, SP Dolapo Badmus who confirmed the arrest however said efforts are being made to arrest other gang members at large.
” The suspects apprehended have confessed that their modus operandi is to rob unsuspecting members of the public and dispossess them of their property and sold for cash.
“They will be transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) for further investigation”
She also advised members of the public to be vigilant and be rest assured that the Lagos state police command will do its very best to keep criminals and criminal activities at bay in the state.
