Katsina state government approves the repatriation of 7,893 Almajirai

The government of Katsina State has approved the repatriation of 7,893 Almajirai from the state to their home states or countries.
The Niger Republic accounts for 2,052 of the total.
At the Wednesday Weekly State Executive Council Meeting, Governor Aminu Masari gave his approval.
The repatriation is the result of a committee tasked with identifying Almajirai schools in the state, their places, the names of the students, and the names of the tutors, as well as repatriating non-indigenes.

This comes after about 780 Katsina State residents who were pursuing Quranic studies in Kano, Nasarawa, and Gombe were repatriated to the state.
