Japan Humbles Faconets 6. 0

NIGERIA’S Falconets suffered the worst defeat in any FIFA Under 20 female tournament early this morning in the hands of Japan at the competition which began for our female team today in Papua New Guinea.

The team led by coach Peter Dedevb were beaten by SIX goals to nothing (6-0) in what should be aptly described as Nigeria’s worse day in football.

Falconets had reached the final of this competition twice in 2010 and 2014.

And this year, bookmakers have tipped the Falconets as favourites to lift the trophy.

This woeful start in the quest may have dampened that ambition.
