JACC: Niger ALGON yet to get allocation
The Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) in Niger State, on Thursday, said its members are yet to receive any allocation from the joint account allocation committee.
In a newsmen in Minna, the chairman of ALGON, Alhaji Tanko Garba Kagara, said members of the association had only met once with state governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello.
However, it would be recalled that ALGON in the state was constituted immediately after the inauguration of local government council Chairmen and Councilors on February 11, this year.
Our correspondent gathered that most of the local government councils in the state had not been able to meet their financial obligation because of the inability of the joint account allocation committee to meet for the disbursement of fund to the local administration.
Investigations had shown that only N20million each was disbursed to each of the councils from the JACC and this was a few weeks to the local government election.
He said that their meeting with Governor Bello was not on the issue of money but on how to improve their internally generated revenue.
