Islamic scholar urges Kwara APC to adopt consensus

Ilorin based Islamic, Sheikh Sulyman Umar Babatunde has appealed to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Kwara to adopt consensus arrangement in picking its governorship candidate for the 2019 election.

Sheikh Babatunde made the appeal on Wednesday in Ilorin in a sermon delivered at the commissioning of the secretariat of Kwara Central Senatorial district of the APC.

According to the Cleric, the time is now to free the entire state from slavery and subjugation by an individual.

He said APC remained the only party that can rescue the state and its people from the shackle of oppression and bad governance of over 18 years.

To free the state, Sheikh Babatunde said all APC governorship aspirants must come together and select one of them to fly the flag of the party to victory.

“We should not make the same mistake we made in 2015 when myriad of aspirants marred the fortune of the then Peoples Democratic Party in the state,” the Cleric added.
