The Chief Imam of Kofar Dumi Mosque in Bauchi metropolis, Ustaz Rabi’u Shehu has counseled President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene in the raging destruction of lives and properties in the four states of Borno, Zamfara, Katsina and Sokoto.

The Islamic scholar in a sermon described as intolerable, the current destruction of human lives and properties in the affected states, saying government has abdicated its responsibility of protecting lives and properties of its citizens.

The imam described as worrisome, the strikes by insurgents at this farming period when farmers are practically busy on their farms, thereby affecting negatively the federal government’s food security programme.
“Insurgency and criminality have continued to inflict serious damages on the lives and properties of people. Lives were made valueless in the eyes of our leaders who swore to protect them, and the security system on the land politically bastardized,” Imam Shehu lamented.
He described insurgency and criminality that have on daily bases, consumed the lives of innocent citizens as calamitous and a reminiscence of a world war.
He added that “unless these dastardly acts bedevilling the north-east and north-west are thoroughly checked, the ugly scenario will consume the entire nation.”
The imam considers the happenings in the two geo-political zones of the country as pseudo -global political sagacity that tends to dictate the political, economical, social and cultural psyche of the people in the Third world.
Shehu therefore, stressed the need for the federal government to tighten its political will collaboratively with the security agencies to end the callousness of the attacks before it is too late.
