Int’l Women’s Day 2025: Foundation advocates accelerated action on gender equality

As the world comes together to celebrate International Women’s Day 2025, under the theme “Accelerate Action,” the Caleb Danladi Foundation (CDF) has reaffirmed its commitment to empowering women, driving swift and decisive steps toward achieving gender equality.

The Foundation CEO Mr. Caleb Danladi Bako made the call on Friday, in a statement entitled: Caleb Danladi Foundation marks International Women’s Day 2025 with a call to accelerate action on gender equality”.

He noted that recognizing that meaningful progress of gender equality required more than just conversations, adding that CDF will continued to take tangible steps to support women, particularly widows and young girls through various initiatives that enhanced economic Independence and digital inclusion.

“Over the years, the foundation has launched several programs, including widow empowerment schemes, financial support for women entrepreneurs, and access to digital literacy programs.

“These efforts have provided thousands of women with the skills and resources needed to build sustainable livelihoods. The foundation has also distributed essential materials to widows, ensuring they receive the support necessary to navigate economic challenges”, he stated.

According to him, in alignment with this year’s theme, the founder of Caleb Danladi Foundation, announced plans to expand these initiatives with a renewed focus on digital literacy and technology for women.

He emphasized that the foundation will introduce the “Tech for Women” initiative, equipping women with the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world.

“Additionally, a Women Empowerment Grant will be launched to provide financial assistance for women entrepreneurs, helping them scale up their businesses and contribute to economic growth.

“Beyond economic empowerment, the foundation remains dedicated to advancing girls’ education, particularly in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)”.

Mr. Danladi emphasized the urgent need to bridge the gender gap in these fields and pledged to expand programs that provide mentorship, scholarships, and learning opportunities for young girls.

“We cannot afford to wait for change; we must drive it,” he stated. “Empowering women and girls today means securing a more equitable and prosperous future for all”, he stated.

He restated that “As the world accelerates action towards gender equality, the Caleb Danladi Foundation stands at the forefront, ensuring that no woman or girl is left behind.

“Through education, financial empowerment, and digital literacy, the foundation continues to champion the cause of women’s rights, inspiring change and creating lasting impact in communities across Nigeria and beyond”, he stressed.
