Ikpeazu tasks Enyimba on Champions League

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has charged the management and players of Enyimba Football Club of Aba to make Abia State proud by lifting the CAF Champions League trophy once again.
Addressing the management and players of the club in Umuahia, Ikpeazu assured the team that the state government is working tirelessly towards making funds available for their entitlements before the end of this month.
He appreciated the team for its effort so far in its local and continental encounters, noting that they exhibited resilience and team spirit for which Aba is known for.
The Governor lauded the team for making the state and Nigeria proud by overcoming Egypt in the CAF Champions League and tasked the players to excel in their remaining matches, both locally and internationally.
He expressed optimism that the team will once more lift the coveted CAF Champions League trophy and charged them to remain disciplined and focused.
Responding, the captain of the team, Chinedu Udorji thanked the Governor for the gesture and promised that the team will make Abia State and the nation proud.
The Governor later made a cash donation of N2.2m to the players and N1m to the management as well as $1000 to the goalkeeper for his outstanding performance during the match against Etoile du Sahel of Egypt.
