Ihedioha inaugurates 159-man transition committee

…Urges them to work hard to sustain the trust of Imo people

Imo State Governor-elect, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, on Wednesday, inaugurated a 159-man Transition Committee and urged them to work hard to sustain the trust of the people of the state and bequeath a legacy of purposefulness and transparency in governance in the practices of democracy.
Ihedioha stated that the task of rebuilding the state is very daunting and enormous, saying that he had the confidence that the transition committee would assist his administration to achieve its objective.
He further disclosed that planning committee may soon be inaugurated to ensure that the activities leading to the swearing-in ceremony on May 29 would be eventful, historic and memorable.
“This assignment is very critical one. While we are asking so much from you, we are mindful of the fact that you are busy professionals with extremely very tight schedules. But, we also know that you will consider this assignment a worthwhile sacrifice to make on behalf of our state”.
“The task of rebuilding our state at this time of our history is very daunting and enormous. I have every confidence that you will all help us to achieve that objective.
“We however, believe in team work and we will not shy away from harnessing the well acknowledged potentials of our people. We also know that with accomplished men and women like you, our job can only be easier to make Imo great again,” the Governor-elect stated.
In a related development, Chairman, Elder’s Council, Imo State, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has described Ihedioha as tested, trusted and experienced leader who had held position of authority in the House of Representatives.
“We are therefore proud and happy to present to Imo State a man with integrity, experience and knowledge of what Imo State requires to bring happiness, peace and prosperity to our people,” he said.
Iwuanyanwu, who spoke to newsmen at the PDP headquarters, Owerri on Tuesday, said that although Ihedioha was candidate of PDP during the governorship poll, with the presentation of certificate of Return by INEC, he is now the father of all in the state.
He therefor called on the sons and daughters of the state to join hands with Ihedioha in the process of rebuilding and uniting the people of the state.
