The All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate for Umuahia North state Constituency, Hon Obilor Ogbonna has assured the people of the constituency that he will create a political framework for the wholesome development of Ohuhu land.
Hon. Ogbonna handed down this assurance to newsmen at his Umuawa Alaocha country home, adding that the long rule of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state and constituency has left Ohuhu impoverished, hence his mission to salvage the land.
Hon. Ogbonna, who is a graduate of Environmental Management and Toxicology and a product of the prestigious Lagos Business School says he will do that through better improvement in education for the people and creation of jobs,
adding that his entrance into politics is a call to service, stating “Some politicians were motivated by selfishness, but I have come to serve”.
In Ohuhu land Hon. Ogbonna said, he has given many scholarships, set up a multi-purpose cooperative society for the women, especially in agro-allied area as well as done much for the people in the area of water provision.
He said he is making himself available to the people with the belief that it is the people that make decisions, not leaders, adding that he is the first and only person from Nkwoachara ward contesting for the state House of Assembly.
According to him, “I want to create an environment where all will display inert capabilities without waiting for the government as good planning transcends into success.
“I don’t think political representatives from Ohuhu have come out with plans for a progressive development of the land”, stating further that in alliance with other lawmakers, “We can always make laws that will engender creative development for Ohuhu”.
He pointed out that he will create a development plan that will identify a roadmap for the development of the area “and not to depend on the salary from the House of Assembly” but will harness his existing network connections across the world for the constituency.
The founding principles of the APC he said, is in tandem with what he wants to do and that the party will produce a government that will eschew corruption in the country.
