I was drunk when I raped my step sister, says suspect

A 36-year-old man, Imeh Akpan, has been arrested by the police in Lagos for allegedly raping his 15- year-old step-sister.

The suspect who resides at Obalende area of the state claimed to have been drunk when he committed the act.

The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Owoseni, who paraded the suspect, on Wednesday, before journalists, said that the suspect had been sleeping with the little girl, when she was five, until he was arrested, but the girl is now fifteen.

Akpan who blame the act on the devil stressed that he went to a friend child naming ceremony, where he took different kind of drinks which later influence his action.

He said: “when I returned from the party that fateful day, I did not know when I removed my clothes and raped her; there was nobody at home that night. Sincerely speaking I was under the influence of alcohol, how can I sleep with a little girl like that? I am married. I brought her up.”
