I cannot forget my people, my country of birth says America-based model Joseph Water
No matter how successful he becomes and no matter how Americanised he becomes, home is where his heart will always be, claimed Nigerian-born high-flying American model Babalola Otitoju Joseph.
The model, known popularly as Joseph Water avowed: “I regularly relate with my folks back in Nigeria. My extended family is over there with a couple of loved ones and friends. Even though relocating to the USA has tremendously helped me, I cannot deny or forget how my people in Nigeria supported me through this journey.”
On whether he is involved in philanthropy as rumoured recently, he cleared the air with a definite answer: “No, I am not involved in philanthropy at the moment, but it’s on my list to build a motherless baby home soon.”
With benefit of hindsight, the model, who migrated to America at the age of 20 years, claimed he should have done several things before embarking on his odyssey to America. “I would have loved myself more, travelled more and I would have invested in Bitcoin and other valuable cryptocurrencies,” he mused.
On the vexing issue of the “internet fraudster” label frequency hurled at Nigerians, the 28-year-old model claimed that it is an unfortunate development. “It can be mortifying each time I hear that a Nigerian was arrested for fraud in America, coupled with the fact that Nigeria has been rated high on the fraud list in the world. This has stifled the possibility of getting loans, getting married to foreigners, and just other international and interracial deals. However, the truth is that a lot of other young Nigerians are hardworking. We are known for our resilience and focus. I find consolation in the fact that others are making legit money,” he stated.
He also disclosed some of the routines and regimens he keeps to maintain his status as a top model. “I spend money eating healthily to look good, I also maintain my body structure by exercising, following beauty regimens like taking care of my skin and teeth,” he revealed.
