How Army arrested suspects with 111 PVCs in Lagos

Eight suspects in possession of 111 PVCs were on Saturday arrested at Makinde area of Oshodi in Lagos.
The suspects who were arrested by troops of the Nigerian Army, 81 Division, had attempted to snatch ballot boxes when troops of the Army Division close to the polling unit, gave them a hot chase and arrested them.
According to the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, 81 Division, LT. Col. Olaolu Daudu, the suspects also had assorted charms in their possession.
Similarly, hoodlums who had obstructed INEC officials from performing their duties and intimidating voters were dispersed by troops during the Governorship and State Assembly elections in the area.
Speaking on this, Daudu said cutlasses, axe and other exhibits were recovered from the scene.“
Troops were alerted by distress calls from locals.The troops moved to the area where the hoodlums were on rampage disrupting peace, blocking INEC Officials movement, intimidating voters and vandalizing shops.
“ On sighting the troops, the hoodlums took to their heels, no arrest was made. Items recovered included 10 cutlasses, one axe, one iron rod and three objects suspected to be mortal stick,” he said.
