Gov Dickson Mocks APC Members, Says Federal Appointment, Wealth In APC A Mirage

The Bayelsa State Governor,Hon. Seriake Dickon, yesterday mocked the members of the ‎All Progressive Congress (APC) in the State following his victory at the Supreme Court, saying the wealth and rosy appointment they seek at the national level would be a mirage.
Governor Seriake Dickson, while speaking at a Well attended Mega Rally organised by the people of the State at the Peace Park in Yenagoa to celebrate his victory at the Supreme Court, said though his victory at the Election Petition Tribunal was from God, he will remain magnanimous in victory and allow the opposition members to wake from their dream to work with his administration in the state for the realisation of the Bayelsa dream.
Governor Dickson, who was welcomed at the entrance of the capital city,Yenagoa,by a mammoth crowd ‎and escorted in a carnival style to the venue of the rally, said ” Come back and join us to develop Bayelsa State. Some of them thought they will get juicy appointments but it seems the place is filled up with people with similar tall dreams. The place is tougher than the state. We will operate an open door policy and inclusiveness to accommodate them.”
Governor Dickson, who also ascribed his victory at the Election Petition Tribunal and the Supreme Court to the grace of God and the prayers of the people of the State, said the legal battles launched by the APC candidate,Chief Timipre Sylva, opened his eye to many issues including the fact that political power can only come from God.
According to him, ” What I saw during these legal battles, I can’t use words to describe it. The Glory be to God. Power does not come from North or South, it only comes from God. It is God that giveth and taketh anytime. And it only comes from him. If it does not allow it,how would we have defeated those people. “
“You all saw what happened at the Unit, ward and local Government levels during the election. But the people defeated them. I can’t remember how rallies and campaigns we addressed. We went to the length and breath of the State to talk to the people. In their usual way, they claimed they had the power and the money. But God delivered them to us.”
“‎When they thought they had major potentials, you defeated them. The people of the state rose up bare chested against armoured tanks to defend the mandate. They set up an election tribunal and took it to Abuja, They remove it from here but they forgot that power does not come from Abuja except God. The Tribunal said No, the people gave me the mandate freely.”
“I thought these people will have sense and come back. They went to Appeal Court despite the hand writing. They went and they gave judgement that we won. They again went to Supreme Court. I observed that when you want power, you will be planning Good, but instead they were planning to kill the people to get power. The Supreme Court declare us winner till year 2020. I think the judiciary have refused to be intimidated.”
Governor Dickson however hinted that though his successor will be chosen amidst prayers and collective reasoning when the time comes, ” it will not be done amidst violence. He also said with the legal cases behind him, he will focus on development effort to complete on ongoing projects and build new ones.
Earlier, in their speeches, the State Deputy Governor, ‎Rear Admiral John Jonah, the Chief of Staff to Governor, Hon. Thalford Ongolo and the Eight Local Government Chairmen under the aegis of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria(ALGON), affirm their loyalty to the Governor and described him as God sent for the people of the State.
