Gombe bishop seeks God, peoples’ support to succeed

The Lord Bishop of Anglican Communion, Gombe,  Rt Rev Henry Ndukuba had prayed that the purpose of God for bringing him to Gombe as the first bishop of Anglican Communion  must be  accomplished  and  be able to raise people, raise pastors, raise leaders, raise ministers, raise people who will come for him so that whenever they  retire from active service these men and women will stand  to take the work ahead, stressing furthermore that he always said it anyone that is coming to take over from him much do much more better than himself and the work will prosper much more in his hands and greater things will be done by the person.

The maintained that his focus has remained to work in collaboration with Government, Local Communities and sister religious and social organizations to tackle the spiritual, social, educational, health and economic challenges that confront the people in state and  the clergy also believes strongly that the Word of God has power to change lives, gives a living hope to the people but moreso, transform the human society  as he is seriously  busy planning churches, developments and carrying evangelism to all corners of the state  while  some  good people of the  Gombe state  viewed him as ‘sacred cow’ due to his good works and his achievements in taking the Diocese to the next level.

Apart from the spiritual upliftment of the Christian community with strong commitment that every community when encouraged and mobilized can tackle the challenges that confront them and every individual has great worth and potential endowed by God, he is also a philanthropist par excellence who does not believe in showmanship attitudes of some Nigerians rather doing  his God’s work diligently, silently, commitment and above all,  with fear of God believing that sooner or later the rewarder who is Jesus Christ must reward  his earthly works done to humanity through the Diocese of Gombe Anglican Communion at his own time.

Recently, the Lord Bishop and his humble family appreciated the Almighty God who has been wonderfully doing miraculous deeds in his life and in the lives of his children and by extension to the Diocese of Gombe when he hosted some of his church members, friends, associates and well-wishers in his house at the Bishop’s Court at the GRA, Gombe. The bishop  who catalogued all his God’s  mercies, graces,  protection through restoration of his health, safety  of  putting to bed a new bouncing baby boy by his daughter, successful  passing  of law school and call to Bar of his daughter, completion of final course of his son in artechitural studies, gaining admissions of his children to read Nursing at  Wusassa  School of Nursing and  medicine at University of Ife as well as the successfully completion of NYSC by his daughter  which  he said that the Lord has done them systematically in accordance to their needs and prayers of the family.

According to bishop Ndukuba,” when I was called because I was in Israel for pilgrimage and I say woo, I have gotten another grandson. Our  daughter Laurette Tochukwu had finished her studies in Law at Nassarawa State University, and in fact, at milk of time it was a very narrow opportunity for her to go to Law school because they took a particular number and her own name was at the second batch, just like the milk of time they sent for her with few others to join the first batch and just like that, they sent her to Enugu to do her Law School and she passed when some lawyers don’t pass at once and she did it and passed and she was called to Bar last month November and we were praying  for her posting, behold, they posted her to Plateau State, in fact, every need we  have asked of the Lord, the need like that he will  be giving them one ,one, after other, the lord has answered our prayer”.

“As I  watch what God has been doing for the past two years, I say God thank for keeping me alive because what would has happened would been  how I wish Daddy would have been a life just even for one year  for him to see what is happening and among my siblings they almost wished that our father  had lived even for another five years  at least to see the fruits of his labour and to see some of the things he suffered for,   so how I wished my father lived longer and if it were not the Lord, I was almost over, I had passed but the Lord brought me back just to be able to do these things, and we thank God just last week Charis delivered, the way it happened was wonderful, it did not happen like someone having the first delivery,  before you know it  within four hours, she had already put to bed without any problem,     when I was called because I was in Israel for Pilgrimage and I say woo, I have gotten another grandson”.

The clergy who was filled with excitement and happiness with his entire household thank God  and prayed with those invited guests  saying that” in fact, the Lord is just putting them in place and I have so much to thank God and for my health.”

He advised that  “when the favour of God is upon your life you need  not to struggle for anything, hang it over to Him and let it there, let God be God, the Lord had helped us, myself and my wife and entire household, our ministries, our pastors, and everybody  we asked of it he has done them,  what he has begun and I  always tell my pastors that I may not stay here for too long, this is my 18 years as Bishop of Gombe and I  may not stay too long for retirement, the timing is in the hands of the Lord but my prayers is that the purpose of which he has brought us he will accomplish it and raise people, raise pastors, raise leaders, raise ministers, raise people who will come for him so that whenever we give thanks these men and women will stand  to take the work ahead. I always said it anyone that is coming to take over from me much do much more better than myself and work will prosper much more in his hand and greater things will be done, I want to thank you because of your support, prayers and in fact, your encouragement that keep us moving, for coming with us for this gathering to pray with us and share with us, we are very grateful”.
