Gernot Rohr backs Kenneth Omeruo to push for Super Eagles shirt after display against Atletico Madrid

Impressed Gernot Rohr has said he expects Kenneth Omeruo to push more for a starting place in the Super Eagles after his star display against Atletico Madrid in La Liga.

CD Leganes held Atletico to a 1-1 draw at the weekend with Chelsea loanee Omeruo playing all 90 minutes for the home team in this Madrid Derby.

It was his fourth straight start for the modest Madrid outfit.

“I was really impressed with his performance, playing against a team like Atletico Madrid and he was able stay focused and consistent, that shows his great quality as a defender,” Rohr.

“His performance is good for the Super Eagles as well as his club.
