Ganduje, Shettima Tambuwal grace Gov Lalong’s brother funeral

Dignitaries at the weekend flown into Plateau to attend the funeral service of Governor Simon Lalong’s younger brother who died on September 26, 2017.

Among the personalities were Governors Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Kashim Shettima and Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Kano, Bornu Sokoto States respectively.

The Minister of Youths and Sports, Solomon Dalong, who was also at the occasion, implored politicians to stop playing politics at the slightest opportunity especially at funeral.

Dalong was presumably responding to Governor Shettima who, while speaking on behalf of the northern governors, said that the peace that returned to Plateau would be attributed to the efforts of former Governors like Fidelis Tapgun, Joshua Dariye and Simon Lalong, tactfully excluding Lalong’s predecessor, Jonah Jang.

Dalong said, “this is not an occasion where we play politics, this is a burial service and a Church graced by respected men of God. The corpse of who we came to bury is still lying waiting for internment and words like this are being spoken; I advice politicians to choose their words in an atmosphere such as this.”

However, the funeral of the late governor’s brother Tsenba Wummen Bako, was without hitches as he was made to rest in his home town at Ajikamai, in Shendam LGA.

Sympathisers at the funeral service were admonished to rededicate their lives to God knowing that humans can only pass through this world but once.

In his sermon, the President of Catholic Bishops, Most Rev. Ignatius Kaigama, also admonished Christians to live lives worthy of emulation.

Our correspondent reports that the late Lalong’s brother was born on the 2nd of June 1971 and was married and the union was blessed with four children.
