The Chairperson of the Adamawa State chapter of the Federation of international Female Lawyers (FIDA), Barr Hapsat Abdullahi has revealed that the Governor of Adamawa State, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has signed a stringent law that will fight the menace of rape in the state.
Abdullahi made the revelation while featuring on a local radio station (NAS FM) during a Hausa program (Duniyan Mata) during which she said the law will not allow any rapist to contest for any political office or be employed as a civil servant to work for the state government.
She said that henceforth anybody found guilty of a rape will face death penalty if the victim dies during rape.
The female lawyer said culprits found guilty of gand raping will bag life imprisonment while a line rapist will get a minimum of twenty years jail term.

Abdullahi also stated during the live radio interview that from now on the minimum punishment is twelve years unlike before where offenders will get seven years jail term
She called on parents and guardians to entrust their children and wards in the hands of honest people.
She lamented that rape cases are prevalent and parents and close relatives are being reported on a daily basis.
She commended Governor Fintiri for frowning at the ugly trend of the social menace and vowed to fight it to the end.
