Faluade mounts Olu Ibogun-Balogun’s throne
Renowned promoter of Ifa Olokun Fondation and the Olu-Ifa of Yorubaland, Dr. Ifakayode Adeshina Faluade, has been installed the Olu of Ibogun-Balogun in the Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Amidst pomp and pageantry, all Ibogun sons and daughters, home and abroad, rolled out the drums to celebrate Oba Faluade’s coronation and presentation with the staff of office as the Olu of Ibogun -Balogun, Ifo, Ogun State by the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, who was represented by the State Commissioner for Local
Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Jide Ojuko.
The event, which took place at the Egbeda Comprehensive High School, Ibogun, Ogun State playground recently, witnessed cultural dances, paying of traditional homages, entertainment of guests and offer of royal blessings for the growth and development of the town and Ogun State in particular and Nigeria in general.
In his address at the occasion, Oba (Dr.) Ifakayode Faluade, gave praises to God, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, the Ogun State Government and the entire sons and daughters of the town for considering him worthy of the honour, stressing that he owed the success of his coronation to their immense contributions. He, however, assured the people of his determination to live up to expectation by bringing positive innovations and productive dynamism to the town to the delight and admiration of all and sundry in and outside Ogun State.
The monarch took a look at the state of development in the community and charged that better understanding and cooperation between his village heads, who are his representatives, and the people would enhance the rate of socio-economic development in Ibogun – Balogun community, appealing to the village heads to ensure their people live in harmony, more so that no society could make progress in an atmosphere devoid of peace.
He, however, used the occasion to appeal to both the indigenes and potential investors to come and invest in the town, pointing out that the economic prosperity of Ibogun-Balogun, security, good road networks, the warm hospitality and cooperation of the people will, no doubt, facilitate successes in all business endeavours in the town.
Oba Faluade called on all Ogun indigenes to continue to be supportive of the Governor Ibikunle Amosun administration in the state for its implementation of people-oriented programmes, which have impacted in an unprecedented manner on the lives of the people, noting that the loving people of the Gateway state were proud of
Senator Amosun’s initiatives in putting in place all necessary mechanisms aimed at making Ogun State an envy of other states of the federation with the re-introduction of free education and construction of world-class model schools for children of public schools and construction of first-ever six-lane international standard roads across the state with modern features such as drains, medians, greenbelts, walkways and street-lights.
He further added that Senator Amosun’s distribution of over 5,000 brand new transformers to bring back to life the hitherto comatose small and medium scale enterprises in the state, efficient healthcare services and delivery, improved agricultural production, affordable housing and urban renewal, offer of employment opportunities to thousands of youths in the state through direct and indirect employment and purchase of Armoured Personnel Carriers (APC) and patrol vans to fight crimes and all forms of criminalities in the state have, no doubt, impacted positively on the lives of the people.
