EbubeAgu Apprehend, Hands Over 11 Suspected Criminals To Police

The Ebonyi State chapter of the EbubeAgu security outfit yesterday turned over to the state police command 11 alleged offenders arrested by the outfit in various parts of the state.

Chief Stanley Emegha, the commissioner for internal security, border peace, and conflict resolution, said the suspects had committed offences including stealing, burglary, theft, and conspiracy while turning them over to the police in Abakaliki.

Roofing sheets and petrol distributing pumps, among other things, were among the materials confiscated from the suspects, according to Emegha.

He said that the 11 suspects who were handed over to the police in two batches did so in accordance with the rules of the state law that supports the EbubeAgu security group.

According to him, “The suspects were arrested at different locations in the state for stealing, burglary, and other crimes. We have handed them over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.

“The EbubeAgu Security Outfit since it was set up has helped in complementing the efforts of other security agencies in ridding the state of criminals. Several criminals have been arrested by the outfit and handed over to the police for prosecution.”

He said that their presence in the state has reduced crime to its bare minimum, and he pledged that they would continue to build on their achievements.

The commissioner for internal security reaffirmed Governor David Umahi’s administration’s commitment to protecting Ebonyi citizens’ lives and property.

Emegha vowed to maintain the state’s assault on criminal groups, stating that Governor Umahi has demonstrated a greater commitment to the security of Ebonyi people’s lives and property.
