Driver gets N100,000 bail for allegedly touching teenager’s breasts

An Ogudu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Wednesday granted N100,000 bail to a driver, Gabriel Ibitunde, who allegedly touched a minor’s breasts.

The Magistrate, Mrs O. Sule-Amzat, ordered that the driver should also produce two sureties as a condition for the bail.

The 40-year-old driver, who has no fixed address, is facing a count charge of indecent assault.

The prosecutor, Sgt Lucky Ihiehie, had told the court that the accused committed the offence on Oct. 22 at the New Garage in Ojota, Lagos.

He said that the 15-year-old food seller was looking for small naira denominations when the accused came behind her, touched her breasts and pressed them.

Ihiehie said that the minor was selling food in the garage when she was indecently assaulted.

“She went to look for `change’ for a customer when the accused indecently assaulted her.

“She threatened to report the act to the chairman of the garage and the accused started beating her,” he added.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the offence contravenes Section 135 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (revised).

The court adjourned the case until Dec. 6 for mention. (NAN)
