Dogo sets Fed Cup agenda

Nasarawa United head coach Kabir Dogo has said his side will be confronting former players when they square up against the Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO) side, Aklosendi FC.
The Solid Miners will face the amateur side in Sunday’s state Federation Cup final at the Lafia Township Stadium.

The Lafia landlords outscored Bashira FC 5-1 in the semifinal clash.
Dogo said his side have set their eyes on retaining the coveted trophy to head to the centre to challenge for the crown they lost narrowly to FC IfeanyiUbah.

“We will be up against our former players when we step out against Aklosendi FC in Sunday’s Federation Cup final.

“Aklosendi FC are good side made up of ex-Nasarawa United players as well as other home stars who could not break into the Nasarawa United mainstream team.

“We are not going to underrate the opponents knowing full well that the Federation Cup is full of surprises.

“We will not fall for its tricks or become victims so we will come out in our best form to give the match the best performance.

“We are the title holders and we are doing everything humanly possible to ensure we retain the title.

“Of course, we were losing finalists to FC IfeanyiUbah in the immediate past edition which is already history.

“We will prepare adequately to give the national stage final another good run to chance contesting for the podium dance,” said the former Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) FC coach.
