Desperate Housewives actress gets 14-Day Prison Sentence for giving bribe

Desperate Housewives actress, Felicity Huffman has been sentenced to 14 days in prison for involving in a college admissions scandal.
The actress who grew tearful, her voice breaking told a courtroom that she wished she had never taken part in a scheme to inflate her daughter’s SAT score.
Felicity who was also sentenced to do 250 hours of community service and pay a $30,000 fine said, she admitted to paying $15,000 ( #5,422,500.00 ) to have her daughter’s SAT exam answers secretly corrected in 2017.
According to her, “There are no excuses or justifications for my actions. Period,” Huffman said in a statement after her sentencing. “I would like to apologise again to my daughter, my husband, my family and the educational community for my actions.
“And I especially want to apologise to the students who work hard every day to get into college, and to their parents who make tremendous sacrifices supporting their children.”
Also, parents and athletics coaches were among 50 people charged in the scheme, but none of the children were indicted.
Judge Indira Talwani who presided over Huffman’s case believed she has accepted full responsibility for her actions, however saying “trying to be a good mother does not excuse” what she did.
She must report to prison in six weeks.
Though, Prosecutors had asked for a month in prison and a $20,000 fine.
