DEPUTY GOVERNOR BAGS CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP AWARD

The Deputy Governor of Kogi State Elder Simon Achuba has been honoured with the Christian Leadership Award of Excellence by the Gospel Ministers Association of Nigeria, Kogi State branch.

In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the deputy governor, Akor Sylvester, the deputy governor was given the award of the “Best Christian Friendly Deputy Governor in the North Central Zone” by the Christian group.

Presenting the award to Elder Achuba in his office in Lokoja the Kogi State capital on Tuesday, the leader of the group, Rev Daniel Idachaba said that the deputy governor, merited all the requirements to receive the prestigious award of the group.

He said the association watched with keen interest the contributions of the deputy governor to the Christian family in particular and other religion bodies in general and considered him worthy of the award.

The group leader while stating that there is reward in hard work, urged the deputy governor to hold on to his faith and continue to serve his God with whole heart.

He commended the leadership of the state led by governor Yahaya Bello, calling on all the people of Kogi to join hands with the administration in its determination to build a new kogi state hoped for.

Earlier, the Deputy Governor thanked the Christian group for finding him worthy of the meritorious award, assuring that the award would trigger him to do more good for humanities.

He said that the present government of the state led by governor Yahaya Bello was instituted by God, maintaining that any government that has the hands of God in it will never fail.

The deputy governor therefore called on all Kogites, irrespective of religion divide to join hands with the administration in its resolve to build a better state that the future generations would be proud of.

According to him, the governor Yahaya Bello led administration has a lot to offer to the people of Kogi state in terms of development.
