Delta Police kill one, arrest two others in foiled robbery attempt
The Police in Warri, Delta State, on Monday killed a robbery suspect and arrested two others of a three-man gang, who had attempted to rob a commercial tricycle rider of his tricycle around Ighogbaudu Road, Okumagba Layout.
The robbers’ attempt was reportedly thwarted when the police accosted them during their patrol routine.
It was gathered that the armed bandits boarded the tricycle as passengers and on getting to the Ighogbaudu Road, one of them demanded for the keys at gun point, unfortunately for them, the rider exhibited bravery by resisting the attempt.
The act, out informed sources said, was greeted by gun shot on the leg of the rider by the masked man among the gang, leaving him with deep cuts.
It was further gathered that the gun shot attracted the attention of nearby policemen on patrol who immediately rushed to the scene in an attempt to arrest the passengers in the tricycle.
