Delta: PDP, APC in war of words over Okowa’s performance

A frightening war of words over Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s performance in the last one year has erupted between Delta State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC).
Expectedly, All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in the state, Chief Hyacinth Enuha, had last weekend criticised the performance of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as shoddy and fell short of expectation, adding that come 2019, All Progressives Congress will take over the state.
But in swift reaction on Monday, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Publicity Secretary in the state, Mr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, described the APC chieftain’s position on Okowa’s-led administration as a ruse and calculated attempt to divert attention of a focused government.
Emphasising that Chief Enuha is a political liability who loafs around in Delta North, Osuoza recalled that Chief Enuha, as former PDP member in the state had tried unsuccessfully to hijack the political structure and stifle the emergence of the vibrant and progress political vision in his constituency, only to be disgraced out of contention.
The PDP Publicity scribe said: “After Enuha efforts failed to produce good results in his attempt to hijack the political leadership of his constituency, his egocentric greed for domination, autocracy and dictatorial tendencies ended in monumental humiliation.”
Noting that Enuha had been seeking political relevance in different political platforms including the Republican Party of Nigeria (RPN), and at present All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Osuoza said his ploy to foist negative political imprimatur on the electoral landscape has continued to fail.
He, however, explained that PDP though not averse to constructive criticism based on empirical facts, added that such criticisms should be committed to facts as succinct evidence.
He said: “Such hallow and shallow attempts like that of Chief Enuha’s comments portend evil, Okowa’s courageous and visionary leadership in the last one year, flies in the face of season, especially given the fact that dispute the very harsh economic realities, Okowa has not only initiated and empowered over 17,000 Deltans via job creation like the YAGEP, STEP, PPSP, the Micro-Credit Scheme, but has also embarked on providing enduring infrastructural facilities.”
