Dana partners TV show to boost entrepreneurship

Dana Air has signed a partnership agreement with the Africa’s Young Entrepreneurs (AYE) Reality TV Show in bid to harness and develop the youths through entrepreneurship.
It said in a statement that the partnership is aimed at nurturing entrepreneurial ideas for the association with a view to helping all members reach their potential with the requisite skills and technical support.
The Communications Manager of Dana Air, Mr. Kingsley Ezenwa, said while signing the partnership agreement: “As a responsible corporate organization, we are committed to helping young entrepreneurs actualize their aspirations and we believe there is no better way to reduce crime rate, and unemployment than supporting initiatives like this.”
As part of its commitment to supporting youth development, the airline recently introduced special fares for members of the National Youth Service Corps and students, a gesture that beneficiaries had described as rare in an industry full of crises.
Appreciating the partnership, the Regional Manager of A.Y.E, Mrs. Joy Michael, said the body, with its 12 million members, is where the world connects with Africa’s young and fast-growing number of entrepreneurs.
According to her, “A.Y.E has successfully expanded to 20 African countries including the United States and England with the world’s most successful businessmen and women as the trustee honorary members and executives to the organization.”
She stated that A.Y.E has identified in the last four years, showcased and equipped budding and emerging entrepreneurs with relevant resources to either commence or scale up their businesses.
“Nigeria’s most creative and youth-conscious airline Dana Air is partnering with us and we encourage other well-meaning brands to come on board, as this promises to be bigger and exciting,” she stated further.
She added that the reality show is to “influence start-ups, micro, small and medium enterprise to see the possibility of venturing into new business opportunities and scaling their existing businesses.”
Dana Air says it has been on top of its operations having bagged two CSR awards for its community relations activities and flown over 4.5 million passengers in the last eight years.
“Dana Air is one of Nigeria’s leading airlines with over 27 daily flights from Lagos to Abuja, Port Harourt, Uyo and Owerri,” the statement added.
With the partnership, the airline aims to boost its flying network both on local and international routes, as the airline looks forward to engaging in more youth-friendly programs.
