CYFI graduates fresh set of Fellows
The Carrington Youth Fellowship Initiative, has graduated a new set of Fellows for 2014.
The 2014 CYFI Fellows were sent forth at the 3rd annual closing ceremony, held on Friday, March 20, at the U.S Consul General, Jeffrey Hawkins’ residence, in Ikoyi.
CYFI is a dynamic youth-based initiative that brings together Nigerian youths of exceptional vision to design and implement projects that will have a positive impact in Nigeria.
Past CYFI Fellows have made meaningful contributions to diverse communities across Nigeria in education, public health and sustainable development.
They have also engaged local leaders and visiting dignitaries in discussion during CYFI forums and networking events.
The ceremony which started with a goodwill message from Lisa Spinks, on behalf of the former U.S Ambassador, Walter Carrington, saw the graduating Fellows like Olatunji Ajani, Paul Ajayi, Linda Ijeoma, Oluwaseun Jegede, Eyewuene Murphy-Akpieyi, Abiodun Odunuga, Ebenezer Ogun, Eyitayo Ogunmola, Kikiope Oluwarore, Ajoke Omoware, Olusola Owonikoko, Ebuka Ugochukwu and Ngozi Ukpai-Okoro, all seated to witness their happy day.
Speaking, Jeffrey Hawkins said he was very enthusiastic about the CYFI programme before arriving Nigeria saying that he had a lot of plans to grow the Initiative.
According to him, the U.S believes in Nigeria, saying that the products of the CYFI Initiative, will surely move Nigeria to the next level of greatness in terms of good leadership.
