At least, 12 more patients of COVID-19 have being discharged from FCT Isolation centres having fully recovered from the dreaded virus.

According to the Minister of FCT, Malam Muhammad Bello, who made the announcement on his official Twitter handle, “the total number of discharged patients in the FCT is now 23 as at 7:30pm, April 15”.

He said the patients were discharged after satisfying all the necessary protocols preparatory to their being certified Covid-19 free.

The FCT Minister, Malam Bello, has also expressed optimism that more patients treated in the FCT COVID-19 Isolation centres would be discharged in the coming days.

“I am glad to announce that additional three (3) #COVID19 patients have been discharged from the isolation and treatment centre in the FCT after they tested negative.”

The Daily Times gathered that whereas seven patients were discharged from the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada, two were discharged from the National Hospital, both facilities designated as Isolation centres for the treatment of COVID-19 patients in the FCT.

As at press time, we could not authoritatively confirm which of the Isolation centres for the treatment of COVID-19 patients in the FCT, the remaining three patients were discharged from.

Recall that the FCT Administration had earlier discharged 11 persons in two batches bringing the total number of discharged patients so far to 23.

Earlier, the FCT authorities in a short message from its Covid-19 Media team had said “We are happy to announce that seven patients were discharged from UATH Isolation Center, Gwagwalada today (Wednesday).

The remaining ones are clinically stable and responding well to treatment. To God be the glory.”
