CEO of Ahn Fire Digital, Brad Ahn: Passion Is Everything

Ask any entrepreneur, and he or she will talk about the importance of having a passion for one’s business and industry. It can benefit one in a range of different ways, like giving him or her motivation to learn more, or by helping to foster relationships built on a shared interest.

It’s like a secret weapon when scaling, and entrepreneur Brad Ahn has been using it for almost a decade now.

As the CEO and founder of multiple sports publications, Brad is no stranger when it comes to growing a successful business.

Other than working hard, having a supportive team, and providing top-tier content, having a genuine passion for the work one is doing is a vital key in scaling.

For as long as he can remember, Brad has been interested in sports, and though he didn’t see a future as a player, he knew he wanted some sort of career within the industry.

Things first began in 2011, when Brad started a blog named Heat Nation, which focused on sharing all things related to the basketball team Miami Heat.
Whether it was news, updates, or rumors, he was consistently doing research and posting to his website. Unlike other brands, Brad kept everything real and only offered readers transparent information, something he continues to do with his current companies.

The successful scaling of Heat Nation came from Brad’s passion for his business, and after seeing the results, he applied that same passion to a couple more ventures. Between 2014 and 2018, he started more team-based publications named Cavaliers Nation, Dolphin Nation, and Lakers Daily.

This allowed things to really start taking off for Brad and his company. He continued working hard, even hiring writers and editors with strong journalism backgrounds to help him.

Between Brad and his team, things got a lot easier to run, which allowed them to do big things. In 2019, they officially incorporated their business, and Ahn Fire Digital was started.

Since then, they’ve seen a growth in users, page views, and revenue in each quarter. Their numbers have doubled since last year, and it doesn’t look like that will be stopping anytime soon.

“Be in love with your industry,” Brad says on being an entrepreneur. This mindset is what helped him reach his current level of success, and it’s what will continue those results for the future.

Speaking of the future, Brad and his team have big plans for the company, like expanding the graphic design and video departments to provide new verticals and even greater content.

By doing all of this, the goal is to become a big household name like Bleacher Report. This may not be the easiest thing to do, but with the consistent dedication Brad and his companies have shown over the last decade, it may not be too far out of reach
