Burglar surrenders to police in Delta

A thief identified as Osagie Uweni has surrendered himself to the Police Divisional Station in Agbor, Delta state after being caught with a stolen bag of beans he allegedly stole from a shop in Agbor.

Confessing, Osagie, who is auto -mechanic, said he went out as early as 2am on April 27, to break the shop which was to enable him have something to eat with his family since he has not been able to go out and earn money since the lockdown began.
“I got something from the shop that I broke into and the bag of beans I took from the shop,” he said.
Police officers who were unable to bring down the bag of beans from Osagie’s head, however, heaved a sigh of relief as the owner of the shop raced to the scene, recited some incantations which thereafter, aided the off-loading of the bag of beans from Osagie’s head.

But, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Hafiz Inuwah, who was contacted on the incident, denied knowledge of the story, saying that the report was yet to reach him.
He warned that the police will not tolerate any act of criminal activities in the state, especially robbery and kidnapping among others
The shop owner (name withheld) lamented that this is not the first time that her shop has been burgled, but on nhearing Osagie’s pathetic story, opened the bag of beans in question and gave Osagie half of the bag plus other food ingredients.
