Buhari to make first visit to Plateau, holds town hall meeting with stakeholders

President Muhammadu Buhari will be visiting Plateau State for the first time in two years since he assumed office as President.
He is scheduled to be in Jos next week Saturday for the graduation ceremony at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies in Kuru. He will on the same day hold a town hall meeting with Plateau State stakeholders.
Speaking to Journalists Monday, on the line up activities scheduled for the visit, Governor Simon Lalong said the President will also use the opportunity to commission some projects executed by the All Progressive Congress (APC), administration in the State.
Lalong said the insecurity that has resurfaced in the state will also be addressed by the President during the stakeholders meeting.
“The resurgence of isolated killing in some communities is most unfortunate: the visit of the President will also look at ways in addressing the issue with a view to resolving the differences and to bring it to an end.
“At the State level we have put a lot of measures in place to check the circle of violence”, he said.
On the issue of those who are still expecting federal appointment from the presidency, Lalong said the Presidency is scrutinizing the list of appointments into federal boards to ensure that it corresponds with the desire of APC stakeholders across the country.
Speaking on the open grazing bill, the governor maintained that the executive bill for the implementation of the ranching policy of modern livestock production had been completed for transmission to the state legislative arm.
On his part, the Plateau State APC Chairman, Hon. Letep Dabang said the party has concluded the primary elections for councilors and local government Chairmanship position across the 17 LGAs.
However, the APC chairman and other stakeholders such as Senator Joshua Darie, elder statesman, Yahaya Kwande, Chief Jethro Akun and Senator Davo Zang among others, promised to give total support to the state government during the President’s visit
