Brothers arraigned in court over alleged assault
Two brothers, Salisu Salawu and Salisu Kabiru who allegedly assaulted a man and his sister was on Wednesday docked before an Ikeja Magistrates’ court Lagos.
 The defendants who resides in Ipaja, Agege, Lagos were arraigned on a three-count charge bothering on assault and illegal use of arm before Magistrate Bola Osunsanmi
 According to the prosecutor, Insp. Simon Imohoma, the defendants committed the offense on Dec. 27 at about 11:30am in their residents.
 Insp. Imohoma told the court that the duo do assault a middle age man, Hassan Adamu and his ten-years-old sister, Halimat Adamu by attacking them with screw driver thereby causing then bodily harm.
 Part of the charges against the defendants read that: you; Salisu Salau and Salisu Kabiru on Dec. 27, 2016 at about 11:30am in Ipaja, Agege area of Lagos state do assault one Adamu Hassan and his sister Habibat Adamu
 The charge also read that you: Salisu Salau, Salisu Kabir at the aforementioned time and address, unlawfully inflicted injury on the two siblings by using a screw driver to cause them bodily harm.
 The duo however pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.
 Counsel to the defendants, Chief Y.O Ajao prayed the court to grant the duo liberal bail condition. He averred that the parent of the defendants are working on settlement with the complaint.
 The presiding Magistrate, B.O Osunsanmi, after listening to the counsel, granted the accused bail in the sum of 100,000 each with two sureties in like sum.
Osunsanmi said that the sureties must be gainfully employed and should swear to an affidavit of means and produce evidence of two years tax payment to Lagos State.
She adjourned the case till Dec. 9, 2017.
