BREAKING: Twitter takes down Buhari’s ‘civil war’ tweet on dealing with ‘insurrection’

President Muhammadu Buhari’s tweet, in which he threatened to treat Nigerians who were “misbehaving” in “the language they understand,” has been removed from Twitter.

Buhari spoke about the civil war experience in a tweet sent on Tuesday, threatening to deal with those who are “bent on destroying” Nigeria through “insurgency.”

“Those of us who spent 30 months in the fields and lived through the war will treat them in their own language,” he had stated.

Following considerable disapproval of the tweet, Twitter removed the item on Wednesday.

The platform said the message violated its rules.
