Bingham University produces 155 doctors

College of Medicine and Health Sciences of Bingham University on Tuesday inducted 31 newly graduated medical doctors that had obtained degrees in Medicine and Surgery from the institution, making a total of 155 doctors produced in five years.
In a brief speech at the Physician’s oath taking ceremony, held at the Bingham Hospital in Jos, the Plateau state capital, Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Williams Qurix, advised the new medical doctors to abide by the rules guiding medical practice.
He charged the newly inducted medical graduates to be change agents in the health sector.
In his words “Today’s induction is the fifth in Bingham university, the first set of 19 Doctors was in March 2014, the second set produced 45 doctors in 2015 and today we are witnessing the induction of 31 doctors giving a total of, 155 doctors produced by Bingham University, we hope in no distant future our administration quota will increase so that our output will correspondingly increase”.
The university has improved the infrastructural facilities in Jos campus in terms of new academic block thus creating more office accommodations befitting of an academic institution, we have also completed and put to use new Emergency Paediatric Unit (EPU) improving our clinical services.
He further said “Friendly academic and learning environment have been created through establishment and expansion of e- library, solar power and provision of water tanker to boost supply of water to the campuses”,
“Your role as medical doctors is very crucial to humanity. You are trained to save lives.
“You should never compromise this very important role and rule; you should always remember your oath and respect it,” he said.
The Medical and Dental council of Nigeria have from the establishment of this medical school sustained continuous support in terms of advisor and also prompt responds to our invitation, the university remains eternally grateful to the management.
