Bauchi state ready to pay new national minimum wage – Abubakar

Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar of Bauchi state has reaffirmed his government’s readiness to pay the N30,000 national minimum wage to the state civil servants even as he said his administration will soon constitute a committee that will make recommendations concerning the new National Minimum wage.

Governor Abubakar said that the labour force in Nigeria is a key component of the country and as such, must be encouraged and supported to promote growth and development.

According to him, “Civil service remains the only veritable machinery through which government programmes and policies are implemented.

In addition, you will agree with me that for the government to succeed in fulfilling its obligations, service delivery to the people of the state, the civil service must remain effective, committed and productive”

He charged workers in the state to uphold the provision of public service regulations and other relevant laws in dealing with matters of public service and interest.
