Bala Mohammad’s elder brother kidnapped

Bauchi – Gunmen on Wednesday night, kidnapped Mr Adamu Mohammad, elder brother to Bauchi state Governor, Bala Mohammad.

The gunmen, after firing several warning shots, made away with their victim around 7.30pm at Anguwar Jaki Area of Bauchi metropolis.

Efforts to secure comments of the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Kamal Abubakar, proved abortive as he neither picked his call, nor responded to text message sent to him on the matter.

However, Mr Muktar Gidado, Senior Special Assistant (SSA), Media to Gov. Bala Muhammed , confirmed the occurrence of the incident.

Gidado, in response to a text message confirmed that the victim was kidnapped on Wednesday at about 7.30 pm at Yan Jaki.

“Yes! It is confirmed at about 7:30pm and no further information yet,” he stated.(NAN)

Recalled that governor Bala Mohammad of has tested positive of the deadly Coronavirus, COVID-19.

Mr Muktar Gidado, the governor’s Senior Special Assistant (SSA), Media, revealed this in a statement issued to newsmen on Tuesday.

“This is to inform the general public that the result of the six initial tests carried out by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Gov. Bala Mohammed, his family and aides that accompanied him to Lagos is out.

“Of the six initial tests carried out, one sample was confirmed positive of COVID -19.

“The positive result happened to be that of Gov. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State.

“At this point, it should be noted that the Governor is in self-isolation as his Doctors and officials from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) have taken full charge of his quarantine,” Gidado said.
