AUTOBATE elects Edeki Osumah as president

…..Gets new minimum wage
The Automobile, Boatyards, Transport Equipment, Allied Senior Staff Association (AUTOBATE) has elected Comrade Edeki Osumah as the National President.
The election was held at its Extra Triennial National Delegates’ Conference in Lagos.
Sola Olorunfemi, General Secretary of AUTOBATE, decrying the state of working people in Nigeria, stressed that the price rise of kerosene and other oil products and the devaluation of naira are products of anti-poor policies of government directly dictated from the political laboratories of Bretton Wood’s institutions like the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
He added that labour centres are to collaborate with the civil society to build a collective fight-back that would ameliorate the hardship that is currently bedevilling the country.
According to the Union, “AUTOBATE officially announced the new NJIC agreements where we won a new minimum wage of N90,400 comprising basic salary; Transport and Housing Allowance. The union urged other workers in the auto, Boatyards, and transport equipment industries to join the union now and enjoy the new minimum wage.
The Union, an affiliate of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) elected Comrade Edeki Osumah as National President from Niger dock Nigeria PLC-FZE Branch, Comrade Chidi Oparah as National Deputy President from Tata Africa Service Branch, Comrade Kingsley Onwuemeodo as National Vice President of Motor Parts Industry Branch, Comrade Bola Adenuga as Treasurer from Boulos Enterprises Limited Branch,Comrade Emmanuel Adeyemi as Auditor from Honda Manufacturing Nigeria Limited branch, Comrade (Mrs.) Kate Shedu as Chairperson Women Commission from Nigerdock Nigeria PLC-FZE Branch, Comrade Innocent Udomfuh as Trustee from Galba Nigeria Limited, Port Harcourt Branch.
