As Badagry West and Eti-Osa East council chairs set modalities in place to reduce Covid-19

The Executive Chairman of Badagry West Local Council Development Area, Hon Gbenu Henugbe Joseph, has officially opened the Badagry West COVID-19 holding centre.

The holding centre which is to serve as a stopover for people with symptoms of the deadly disease pending their evacuation to state designated treatment centre, the Chiarman assures is set up in the best interest of the people and support towards fighting corona virus in the area.

“We started with enlightenment program, later we embarked on disinfection exercise. The state government at first provided us with emergency food response palliative and later the council did theirs by moving from one community to the other.

“We did not stop there, our council also started the distribution of nose mask considering the compulsion mandated on it for the public by the state government and today, I must tell you that we took out time to ensure our Covid-19 holding centre to an extent is befitting with basic treatment equipments” Gbenu affirmed.

In a related development and as part of effort to ensure the peaceful coexistence and tranquility within Ajah and Ilaje Area of Eti-Osa East Local Council Area, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Olufunmi Rafiu Olatunji has held a strategic meeting with the community leaders of the area, reiterating that peace must be maintained in the area at all cost by whatever means necessary.

COVID-19: Recruit more medical personnel, group urges Ganduje

The Ajah Community Development Association Chairman and leader of the Ajah delegation team, Alhaji Rasaq Odunlami gave a detailed report of initiatives taken to arrange a joint security task force to forestall any and every form of conflict between the two community youth.

Speaking for the Ilaje Community, Rev. Oduwole Oluwafemi, similarly pledged the cooperation of every relevant stakeholder in Ilaje Community to ensuring that peace and security is guaranteed within the entire Ajah Land and its environs.

The Executive Chairman, Hon. Olufunmi commended and appreciated the leaders for their effort and urged them to continue to be agents of peace within the area.

He highlighted his many efforts at ensuring the general security and safety of lives and property within his constituency which includes the re-activation and re-engineering of the joint community policing through the combine efforts of Nigeria Police Force, Lagos State Neighborhood Watch and Vigilante Group.

The meeting also had in attendance among others, Secretary to the Local Government, Mr. Saheed Sanni ESQ; Hon. Anfaani Odudu, Alhaji Taofeek Adeyemi (Tokyo), Mr. Ebiwa Adewale, Mr. Olamowo Oluwafemi and Alhaji Olokonla Ibrahim. The Chairman further enjoined the community to adhere strictly to stipulated measures that will ensure the war against the spread of Corona Virus is won.
