Army Chief convoy intercepts armed bandits in Yola

The convoy of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General TY Buratai was intercepted by armed bandits/robbers at midnight [Saturday night] while on routine tour of operational areas by the Nigerian Army to curtail the activities of evil men across the country.

In a statement by the Director Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Texas Chukwu the incident took place along Numan – Yola Road yesterday at about 11.30 p.m.

Chukwu confirmed that four of the armed robbers were arrested with 3 Dane guns, machetes and charms.

The bandits according to the statement mounted road block where the COAS’ convoy ran into on their daily operation of attacking innocent Nigerians.

THE STATEMENT
In continuation of Chief of Army Staff operational visit to troops on various states.

On Saturday 5 May 2018, at about 2330hrs- 1200hrs (11:30pm – 12:00am) four local armed robbers were intercepted by the Chief of Army Staff convoy along Numan – Yola Road. The robbers blocked the Numan – Yola high way, robbing motorists and passengers of their belongings.

Items recovered include:
3 Dane guns.
Machetes.
Different kinds of charms.

The suspects had since handed over to the Nigerian Police Force for further investigation and prosecution. The general public is hereby advised to always give useful and timely information to the security agency for prompt response.
